About : Y-PEER is a groundbreaking and comprehensive voluntary youth-to-youth initiative pioneered by UNFPA at a global level since 2000. Y-PEER Bhutan is a network of youth-led and youth serving volunteers and peer-educators based in Bhutan who work together to address and advocate on youth-related issues under the umbrella of Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center in Thailand and Ministry of Education and Skills Development in Bhutan. It was established in 2012 with the aim to promote healthy lifestyles and to empower young people at different levels through peer to peer approach. With 19 sub-networks in the country of present, the issues that are championed by Y-PEER Bhutan are Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) including HIV/AIDS, physical and mental health, Gender Based Violence, Youth Participation, Civic Engagement and Young Key Population (YKP) among others.
